Listed below is the NFL 2011 Chicago Bears schedule and some insider NFL handicapping info.

2011 Regular Season Opponents

Sun, Sept. 11 ATLANTA That lauded Bears defense will be given all it can handle right off the bat in 2011, with one of the NFC’s elite making a trip to Chicago.

Sun, Sept. 18 @ New Orleans The Bears better come out of the pre-season firing at midseason form, because nothing will come easy in the first couple weeks of the regular season campaign.

Sun, Sept. 25 GREEN BAY The third game of a veritable gauntlet of tough tests comes at home against THE bitter regional and divisional rival. Oh yeah, the Packers won the Super Bowl last season, too.

Sun, Oct. 2 CAROLINA Finally, “Da Burrs” get a chance to feast on a rookie QB and one of the league’s have-nots.

Mon, Oct. 10 @ Detroit Sure, Ford Field isn’t top of the list of intimidating places to play, but the Lions will almost always give you a tough game these days.

Sun, Oct. 16 MINNESOTA The Vikings’ strengths play directly into the Bears’. This is good news for Mike Ditka, Vince Vaughn, Oprah Winfrey, the President, etc.

Sun, Oct. 23 @ Tampa Bay If any defense can stifle powerful workhorse RB LeGarrette Blount, it’s Chicago’s.

Sun, Oct. 30 BYE

Mon, Nov. 7 @ Philadelphia In what is probably the NFL’s premier comeback story of the past decade, QB Michael Vick can exploit mis-matches even in the Bears. Let’s hope there will be oodles of game film included in Chicago’s preparation for this nationally televised road contest.

Sun, Nov. 13 DETROIT The Bears can make Detroit one-dimesional, but the aerial dimension is probably how the Lions would put points on the board, anyway.

Sun, Nov. 20 SAN DIEGO Everyone does their bit in the Chargers’ offense, and it all centers around QB Rivers. If Chicago’s front seven can terrorize Rivers early and often, it’s probably the best way to contain a dangerous attack.

Sun, Nov. 27 @ Oakland I like Chicago’s chances in this road game, and so should you.

Sun, Dec. 4 KANSAS CITY Chiefs pivot Matt Cassel hasn’t scared the opposition like we thought he might a couple seasons ago, but how much of that has been due to piss-poor pass protection?

Sun, Dec. 11 @ Denver This game could be played in the snow, but it affects a team like the Bears much less than, say, the Dolphins or the Jaguars.

Sun, Dec. 18 SEATTLE If Chicago has been playing well to this point, they can’t lose focus with two huge divisional games on the horizon.

Sun, Dec. 25 @ Green Bay Chicago is always up for clashing against its nemesis, but personally I’d rather a lump of coal in my stocking.

Sun, Jan. 1 @ Minnesota The weather outside will probably be frightful, but the result on the gridiron could well be delightful for the visiting Bears. A nice way to finish 2011, assuming QB Jay Cutler and the Chicago offense can do enough throughout the season.
